Dealing with a bottleneck at work?

Do you work for a boss who is a bottleneck?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Someone who tells you to run with a project, but then doesnโ€™t actually give you the authority to make a decision?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Someone who doesnโ€™t give you all the information you need in order to accomplish your goals?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Someone who says one thing and then does another, making things feel chaotic?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Someone who creates extra work for you that pulls you from the tasks that would actually help you accomplish your goals or move your project forward?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Someone who chases the next โ€œshiny pennyโ€ and is constantly changing priorities, leaving you with whiplash every few weeks?

If so, Iโ€™m willing to bet that youโ€™ve tried doing the following to try to fix it:
๐Ÿ—“๏ธ  Having a meeting to discuss being included in conversations related to your project so you have the context and relationships needed to do your job well.
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Having a direct conversation with your boss about this issue - asking them to trust you or trying to understand why they canโ€™t let go of decision-making authority on this.
๐Ÿ“š Working harder to create a paper trail that demonstrates your competence - trying to earn the trust of your manager.
๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿป Seeking advice from others at the organization - to make sure this isnโ€™t just you, or to try to figure out how to shift this dynamic.

If thatโ€™s you, donโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ve helped lots of womxn who are frustrated and overworked fix this exact problem through coaching. Contact me to see if you are someone who I can help.
